TRIO Student Support Services

TRIO SSS application is NOW OPEN

Normandale is now host to two TRIO Student Support Services grants, serving 264 students each year. Students in the STEM and health science majors work with STEM and health success coaches, and all other students meet with traditional TRIO SSS success coaches. All TRIO SSS students receive academic advising, degree and transfer planning, visits to 4-year colleges/universities, financial literacy and financial aid information, and fun programs and events.

Students in the STEM and health sciences also participate in company tours and Tech Talks and may qualify for TRIO SSS STEM scholarships.

Former Academy of Math & Science (AMS) participants are especially encouraged to apply for the new TRIO SSS STEM and Health program.

Marquis, a TRIO student.

“Without TRIO, James’ support, and the support of everyone in the program, I don’t think I’d be where I am now. In TRIO, I developed really good study and planning tools, so when I started planning for this semester, I had a level head and was able to make decisions on my own.”

Jennifer, a TRIO student.

“I absolutely love being in TRIO because my coach, Matt, is kind and patient with me. He doesn’t judge me or make me feel like I’m dumb. School, for me, is new and scary, and TRIO helps me stay on track, keep calm, and pushes me to believe in myself.”
