The Normandale Cares Emergency Grant allows students who are experiencing an unexpected financial emergency that they cannot afford to apply for an up to $500 emergency grant per academic year, to allow them to focus on their academic goals.
Application Timing
- The Emergency Grant application for Spring 2026 has closed.
- The Emergency Grant application for Summer 2026 students will open on Wed. June 17th. If you need basic needs support while the emergency grant application is closed please reach out to the Student Resource Center at StudentResourceCenter@normandale.edu.
Requirements
- You must be a student currently taking classes at Normandale to qualify.
- Students are eligible for a maximum of one $500 emergency grant each academic year (fall through summer).
- Funding is not granted to cover tuition, fees, textbooks, or course materials as these are not considered unexpected expenses.
- Awards are based on availability of funding.
- If you are taking courses at multiple Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, you should request funding through your home school.
- PSEO students are not eligible to receive Normandale Cares grant funding. If you are a PSEO student in need of basic needs support contact the Student Resource Center.
- If approved for an emergency grant students typically receive their funds within 3 business days.
