Linking to Sources in Science Direct (Elsevier)

Follow the directions below to get links to articles from ScienceDirect that will work later and from off campus.

  1. On the search results page, choose an article from a journal Normandale subscribes to. Look for the “full text access” label with the green dot. Click the title of the article to view it.
  2. On the article page, find the DOI URL. It appears below the journal name. This is the address to use to return to this page in the future. The DOI link is a permanent link to this article.
  3. Select the DOI link address and copy it (or right-click on the DOI link and select “Copy link” or “Copy link address”). This will have the proxy heading included when you paste it into a browser.
  4. Test your link! Paste the address into a new private browser window to make sure it works. We recommend you test your link again from off campus.

If you plan to post this link in D2L Brightspace, read about linking to library sources in D2L first.
