Normandale’s Health Sciences programs serve a growing number of students preparing for in-demand healthcare careers. At the center of that experience is the Healthcare Education Hub, a modern, interdisciplinary space designed for hands-on, collaborative learning.
Purpose-built to reflect real-world healthcare environments, the Hub brings together advanced labs, simulation spaces, and flexible learning areas that prepare students to train, practice, and succeed as part of today’s care teams.
The Center for Interprofessional Education in Healthcare officially opens on August 24, 2026, marking a major milestone in expanding capacity of health science education at Normandale.
The Healthcare Education Hub includes 18,000 square feet dedicated to health sciences, expanding opportunities for hands-on learning, simulation, and collaboration across disciplines.
A dynamic, eight-bed simulation environment equipped with high-fidelity manikins and individual control stations. This setup allows multiple students to run simultaneous scenarios, independently or as part of a team, making it an ideal space for both skill-building and interprofessional training.
Small, conference-style rooms for four to twelve students and faculty support post-simulation debriefs, collaboration, and team-based learning.
Designed to replicate a real living environment, this space includes a bedroom, kitchenette, and bathroom setup. It allows students to practice delivering care in home-based settings, preparing them to meet patients where they are.
Four fully enclosed simulation rooms, supported by two dedicated control rooms, allow multiple scenarios to run simultaneously without disruption. These flexible, private spaces enable students to fully immerse in realistic clinical experiences, individually or in small teams, while supporting a wide range of healthcare simulations.
An open lab featuring eight beds and low-fidelity manikins, providing students with dedicated space to practice and refine essential clinical skills. Outside of structured class time, students can use this lab to build confidence, practice procedures and peer learning skills, and strengthen competency through hands-on experience.
A modern, high-capacity lab featuring 32 stations equipped with the latest dental technology. With integrated sterilization areas, sinks, and expanded storage, the space supports both technical skill development and efficient workflow.
Comfortable study nooks are integrated throughout the hallways, giving students accessible, quiet places to focus, collaborate, and recharge between classes and labs.
A flexible, multi-use space designed to support both learning and well-being. Movable tables allow the room to transform easily, from a traditional classroom setup to an open space for wellness activities like yoga or tai chi. Transition glass provides adjustable privacy, while an interactive 3D Anatomage table offers an immersive way to explore human anatomy in detail.
Equipped with VR headsets, controllers, and high-performance computers, this space allows students to engage in immersive healthcare simulations. Through virtual environments, students can practice clinical scenarios, build confidence, and develop skills in a safe, controlled setting.
