Lab Course Information

Summer 2026

Students enrolled in fully online lab courses are required to rent a lab kit through the bookstore.

Lab Kit Instructions

 Step 1: Place Your Web Order

Order your lab kit online through How to Place a Web Order. Once your order is processed, you will receive a second confirmation email with the subject line “Order Number: XXXX Pickup Confirmation”. Print a copy of the email or pull it up on your phone. If you need assistance with printing, please see the Information Booth at the Kopp Center.

Step 2: Pick Up Your Lab Kit

Bring both of the following to the Textbook Depot to collect your kit:

  • Your Pickup confirmation email
  • Your Normandale student ID card
  • Textbook Depot Hours 
  • Location to Pick up: Please review your Pick up Confirmation email for location and pick-up details.
  • A photo ID is required to pick up your order. If someone else is picking it up for you, they must have your order number and their photo ID.

🔹 Replacement parts after purchase

If you need to replace any missing, broken, or used components, bring your Normandale student ID and lab kit proof of purchase (i.e. receipt or order confirmation) to Chemistry Prep Room S2373.

Step 3:  Returning Labkit Material

Your lab kit includes a checklist. Items marked “RETURN – HIGHLIGHTED items in the bin” must be returned a week after the last day of finals.

  • Failure to return required items on time will result in a fee charged to your student account.
  • Return location: You will receive an email from the bookstore with the rental return times and location. Your kits must be returned to the Textbook Depot.

First Summer Session: 06/01/2026 - 07/01/2026:

When picking up your lab kit, please plan to spend 5-10 minutes reviewing the kit contents. Labkits must be picked by Week one (Week of June 1st)for each of the summer terms.


Second Summer Session: 07/06/26 - 08/07/2026:

When picking up a lab kit, please plan to spend 5-10 minutes reviewing the kit contents. Labkits must be picked by Week one (Week of July 6th) for each of the summer terms.
