But it gets even better: Not only are apprentices offered full-time positions that include salaries and benefits, but their costs associated with attending school—think tuition, fees, books, technology, and more—are covered by the employer.  

As an apprentice, you’ll become a full-time employee and student, spending approximately 70 percent of your week working and developing specific job knowledge, and the other 30 percent taking college courses that lead to a degree. There’s one big difference between an apprenticeship training program and an internship program: apprentices are paid for the work they do, while interns may (or may not) be paid. While both opportunities allow for valuable on-the-job experience, apprentices contribute almost immediately to the company and receive payment for their work.
