The mission of developmental education at Normandale Community College is to support you in becoming a successful college-level student. With the NPowered Program, our mission is to empower students with the foundational skills and confidence they need to achieve their academic and personal goals.

The NPowered Program at Normandale Community College is a comprehensive support program designed to empower students enrolled in developmental education courses.  

We'll work with you to prepare to begin courses through multiple assessments to ensure you're placed at the correct level and our knowledgeable advisors will help you with registration.

We'll also provide you with the tools you need to succeed:

• Free and early access to a laptop (must qualify) one week before the start of the semester
• One-on-one guidance through Academic & Personal support sessions with a Program Coordinator
• College Success Workshops: Skills and Resources for Students
  • must attend 10 either virtual or in-person workshops
  • the student has the option to attend any workshop offered by the college
• Two Celebrations
  • Orientation - August 20, 2024
  • End of Program Celebration with gift incentives - December 2024
• Tuition or Campus voucher for $200 upon successful completion of the program

 Eligibility:

Students currently enrolled in Developmental Education or English for Academic Purposes classes. All eligible students are welcome to apply and students of color are highly encouraged to apply for the Fall 2024 cohort.  Find out more about English for Academic Purposes classes here.

Normandale Npowered Cohort is full for Fall 2024. We may have limited openings starting Spring, 2025.
